Fiji Airways are the national airline of Fiji and currently service 13 countries with direct flights, including a domestic route within Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, the United States, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. Run by Fiji Airways, the subsidiary 'Fiji Link' services the domestic Fiji market, as well as services to nearby islands such as Tonga and Samoa. Flying since 1947, their fleet currently numbers 13 aircraft, with 3 on order, including Boeing 737's and Airbus A320 and A350's.
Fiji Airways are also a member of the OneWorld Alliance as a 'connect' partner, alongside Qantas, Cathay Pacific and American Airlines (to name a few), and has many airline partnerships across the world, allowing passengers a wider variety of destinations.
Known for their friendly service and eye-catching logo and uniforms, Fiji Airways were recently awarded a 4-star rating by Skytrax, as well as an award for ‘Best Airline Staff in Australia/Pacific’.
Flights currently depart Australia from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne and all travel via the Fiji Airways hub of Nadi, Fiji. From there, passengers can fly to New Zealand, the Pacific Islands (including Tonga, Samoa and Vanuatu), the United States (including Honolulu), Japan or even to Europe or Africa with the use of their partner airlines.
Fiji Airways don't run regular sale days like some other airlines; however they do often have sales and specials which can vary between destinations. Some of these include the 'Bula Spirit' flash sales, Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving), Boxing Day (26th December), Click Frenzy, 'Earlybird' sales and more.
There are often also specific destinations on sale throughout the year, often to Fiji but also New Zealand, Japan and the U.S. Keep an eye out by signing up to their 'Bula' emails through their website, or check our page for the latest specials!
For your next Fiji Airways flight you are able to check in both online or at the airport counter. Online check in opens 24 hours prior to departure, and airport counters open 3 hours prior to departure, or 1.5 hours for domestic travel.
If checking in online, passengers will need to drop their checked baggage or tag their cabin baggage at the Express Bag Drop counter in the airport, or drop their baggage at the airport counter depending on departure city.
In lieu of their own branded Frequent Flyer program, Fiji Airways utilise several of their partner airline programs, including the Qantas Airways Frequent Flyer, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and American Airlines AAdvantage, all of which can be used to earn points or miles for travel on eligible Fiji Airways flights and fares. Points earned can also be used directly with the partner airline for flights, upgrades or extras.
Each program allows customers to earn points in a variety of ways, usually by utilising products and deals operated by partner programs, such as on accommodation, car hire, certain credit cards, shopping and even by purchasing insurance.
Fiji Airways also run 'Tabua', a paid, member-only program which gives passengers extra benefits including access to lounges, priority boarding, higher baggage allowances and more.
