In some of the most American news ever, a South Florida man was recently discovered bringing several guns into a Disney World resort. He was carrying not only a 9mm handgun, but also an AR-15 rifle and several rounds of ammunition.

According to reports, the man stated he brought the weapons as he was worried for his family’s safety, after seeing the social justice protests that took place in Central Florida last month.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office report, the man checked into Disney's Polynesian Village Resort on the Labour Day weekend holiday, carrying his guns in a tennis bag.

When the bellman who handled the bags felt their weight, he reported it to his manager who discovered the weapons.

Although Disney’s policy is that no guns or firearms are allowed at any of their parks and resorts, the man was not arrested and the guns were kept in the hotel safe until the man and his family checked out.

The man carried a ‘concealed weapons’ permit, which is required when carrying certain types of firearms, so he was not arrested or charged.

“No arrests were made because no laws were broken,” stated the sheriff’s office when they were asked about the incident.

Earlier this year, a woman from Georgia was arrested after two concealed firearms were found in her child’s nappy bag. The family were trying to enter Epcot Centre, though she did not have a permit and was fined.
