A trip to Adelaide just got a whole lot more interesting.
South Australia's artisan gin, rum and whisky distilleries have joined together to create the SA Distillery Trail.
Some distilleries offer behind the scenes tours, cocktail making classes, food trucks, free cocktails and master classes - the details of which are all on the SASPA website (South Australian Spirit Producers Association)(trying saying that after you've had a few).
Prohibition Gin is handily situated in Gilbert Street, Adelaide so tourists can start the trail with a gin flight straight after landing at the airport, then head to Mad Monkey in Dudley Park and relax on their glass covered veranda.
So the next time Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews asks "Adelaide - I mean, why would you want to go there?" You can list 18 very good reasons below.
Distilleries included in the trail are:
- 36 Short;
- 5 Nines Distilling;
- Adelaide Hills Distillery;
- Ambelside Distillers;
- Ambra;
- Applewood Distillery;
- Fleurieu Distillery;
- Happenstance Distilery;
- Iniquity;
- Mad Monkey Distillery;
- Mount Compass Spirits;
- Never Never Distilling Co;
- Prohibition Liquor Co;
- Red Hen Gin;
- Seppeltsfield Road Distillers;
- Sunny Road Distillery;
- Three Fold Distilling;
- Two Accents Gin
If that isn't enough, you can order a bespoke hand made pair of R.M.Williams boots in Adelaide and enter into a competition to win a cabin on The Ghan - 3 days/2nights Adelaide to Darwin. Entries close November 1, 2020.
