Qantas Announce 'Scenic Flights to Somewhere' After Success of 'Scenic Flights to Nowhere'. On Sale Later Today!

It’s happening again!

Last month, Qantas’ ‘flight to nowhere’ took off from Sydney, flying over some iconic Aussie landmarks and giving avid travellers a much needed outlet.

The flight sold out in under 10 minutes, which is crazy for a (not particularly cheap) flight that literally doesn’t land anywhere. However, it was so popular that Qantas have decided to run a second one, which goes on sale at 2pm today!

This one will be a little different and will be more of a ‘package’; departing Sydney on the 5th November, 110 travellers will fly to Uluru for a little taste of one of Australia’s most significant sights.

The package includes a pre-flight champagne breakfast in the lounge, flights to Uluru which include low-level flyovers of Sydney Harbour and Uluru/Kata Tjuta.

Upon arrival in Uluru, Qantas have partnered with Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia to create an exciting and memorable ‘Red Centre’ experience which includes a stay at ‘Sails in the Desert’, Ayers Rocks premier hotel.

The stay also includes a hands-on Indigenous art workshop, a three-course dinner at the amazing Field of Light experience and an Indigenous interpretation of the night sky.

The next morning will see visitors watching the sun rise over Uluru, followed by a guided walk to the Muṯitjulu Waterhole and nearby Kata Tjuta before a late morning brunch.

The flight back to Sydney will do a final harbour fly-over before landing back at Sydney Airport.

Qantas' recent 'Flight to Nowhere' sold out in less than 10 minutes.

Alan Joyce, Qantas' CEO, said they were shocked at how popular their previous 'Flight to Nowhere' was.

"We were overwhelmed with the response to our scenic flight while most border restrictions were still in place. It sold out in 10 minutes and the feedback from people onboard was fantastic. Even the most frequent flyers said they had never experienced Australia from the air quite like that. And our crew loved being back on board".

"As well as a handful of these special scenic flight experiences, we’re ready to ramp up our regular services with very competitive fares to help reunite families and friends by the end of the year".

The packages go on sale TODAY at 2pm, so if you’re keen, don’t miss out!

We know from last time that these babies sell fast, and Aussies have shown just how keen they are to get in the sky again.
