Gucci Gang: Airport Workers Busted at JFK Stealing over $6 million of Designer Gear

A group of six people, including two former airport workers, have been arrested for allegedly stealing over $6 million worth of designer gear, including Chanel, Gucci and Prada bags and jewellery.

The group used tractor-trailers across several heists at JFK Airport in New York throughout this year, according to prosecutors in Queens who revealed the details on Thursday.

The two ‘ringleaders’ of the case are 33-year-old David Lacarriere and 43-year-old Gary McArthur. Both are truckers who have worked at JFK and used their ‘inside knowledge’ to coordinate the heists.

The goods stolen included Gucci purses, sneakers, clothing and sunglasses, as well as Prada bags, accessories and clothing and Chanel jewellery and handbags, totalling an estimated $804,000.

In one instance, Lacarriere drove to the receiving office of an air cargo importer in January, showing the clerk a forged document with an airway bill and flight details for a recently arrived Prada shipment.

Him and three others then took ownership of four pallets of designer gear, loading them into a tractor-trailer and driving off.
